Evaluate...

Please help me out in evaluating a new business, giving me some feedback and leading me to others who may be interested. The business is an online franchise like Amazon, QVC and others combined.

In return for your time, I will have a drawing for 1 person to win one of the following prizes (whichever you prefer):

Here are the rules (US residents only):

1) Sign up for one of the following webinars\conference calls:

Tuesday, August 25, 2009 9:00 PM - 10:00 PM EDT

Thursday, August 27, 2009 8:00 PM - 9:00 PM EDT

2) Email me your name, email address (in case I don't know you) and the date time you are attending

3) Attend the webinar\conference call you signed up for

4) Fill out the survey at the end of the webinar\conference call

5) Email me two (2) names and emails of others that would benefit from evaluating this business

If you have already registered\signed up, you are still eligible. After the webinar\conference call on Thursday, I will draw the winner's name and notify them publicly.

It's that simple. For ~45 minutes of your time, you could win a nice gift certificate and help me evaluate this business.

I truly appreciate your opinion and the time you are taking to help me out.

Make it happen!

Wade

From the mouth of babes...

Tonight at dinner I was telling my kids that I was going to be gone later this week. I told them I was going to a convention for Market America. My oldest asked why I was going. Here's how the conversation went:

Me: I'm going to a convention this week.
Oldest Daughter (5 yr): What's a convention?
Me: It's somewhere daddy is going to learn how to make more money.
Oldest Daughter: Oh, why?
Me: Because it will let us have the freedom to go on more vacations together and then daddy will also be able to spend more time with you guys.
Middle Daughter (3 yr): You're gonna be next to us...daddy, you're silly! [not sure where that came from, but it was cute]
Oldest Daughter: OK
Me: So, if your friends ever ask you for money or say they don't have money for something, tell them they need to talk to your daddy.
Oldest Daughter: Or maybe, if they ask for money or need it I can just give it to them.
Me and my wife: No, no, no...
Me: If you give someone $100 they will go and spend it, but if you show that person how to make $100 they can go and spend it, but make it again and again. But it's nice you want to give to others.
Oldest Daughter: Oh
My wife: If I asked if you wanted an egg or a chicken, what would you want?
Oldest Daughter: Chicken, so I can have more eggs
Me and my wife: Good choice

I tell this story, not only to express how my kids think, but to express the need to show kids the need for thinking and acting like an entrepreneur or business person. I know they are very young, but they need to be taught at some point, so why not start now. That's what I do, I teach. I would love to have all the money I could ever think of having, so I can give as much as I wanted to who ever needed it. But right now, I can't. But I'm getting there by finding new ways to create a constant flow of residual income. I'm on my way and I love showing others how to do it as well.

I've tried many "get rich quick" schemes and they always failed because the only way you made money was by selling the same "scheme" to others. There never was a product or service to sell other than the "scheme". Now I only work on proven systems or businesses I create.

I love teaching and showing others how to do things that will make them successful or get ahead of the rat race.

That is my true passion. Having children has allowed me to give that advice and teach all the time, whether it's on ways to earn money for that new toy or how to hammer a nail. I love it and it makes me happy. :)

Projects

I guess I've been pretty absent lately, but there is a long list of things I've been working on. My wife jokes that it's about 17 different things and she's probably right. I'm doing all this including my day job as a SQL DBA. It's tasking at times, but I know it'll benefit us a lot down the line. Here are just a few things I've been working on

1) I've been working as an affiliate for Infusionsoft getting the word out about their awesome products. This has been a ton of fun because I've had a passion for helping small businesses and entrepreneurs for a while now. :

Free 15-day Trial

2) I've been working as an Independent Contractor for Market America helping people learn how to save money shopping online and how to make money doing it. This has been great because of the great system they have in place

Market America

3) Working on a web application to help generate leads through social networking to help small businesses and entrepreneurs.

4) I've been helping to promote a Spiral Friends (my friends company) new application that will help companies track and report on issues and customers. Great product!

SpiralTrac

5) I've met with a new "social network" friend to possibly do some training videos on how to reall y use social netowrking and media for small businesses.

6) I've been helping about 4-5 friends in developing and starting their businesses. This has been fun.

Too many other ones to write about too, but I will hopefully update more as I get more updates on them to make public.

Have a good one,

Wade

Too Many Tools

For some time now I have been researching tools for making the social networking (mainly Twitter) experience easier for me, both on a personal and business level. I have found that there are too many tools out there that just do 1-3 pieces of what I want. After reviewing what seems to be hundreds of tools, there is not 1 tool that does it all or even comes close.

I feel that every designer does just enough to be different, but never enough to create a REALLY good and usable tool…something that combines everything a business would need. I understand that there are “performance” or bandwidth issues when you get into that many pieces, but I’m sure a good developer that actually spent more than an hour putting some of these sites together could do so much more.

I’m not putting down the designers and developers for what they have created. They are all useful tools, but I don’t feel they all do enough.

Here is a list of just some of the tools I’ve reviewed lately. They are in no specific order and don’t necessarily have something to do with Twitter, but they definitely have something to do with automating or “mashing up” parts of social netowrking.
